My story · The heart behind Purposefully Well

Hi, I'm Lynden Lycette.

Certified Life Coach · Founder, Purposefully Well
The growth that mattered most
couldn't be seen
in the mirror.

Purposefully Well grew out of my own experience of discovering that wellness reaches far beyond what we see in the mirror.

During college, I went through a season in which I no longer felt like myself. In a long-term relationship, I had gradually lost touch with the habits and parts of my life that once brought me joy. I stopped working out, gained weight, and struggled with my confidence. I wanted to begin again, but walking into the gym felt overwhelming.

That hesitation led me to reach out to Olivia. What began as a workout partnership became a friendship that felt like sisterhood. She offered encouragement and accountability without judgment. She didn't expect me to have everything together; she simply showed up. Her consistency helped me find the courage to start showing up for myself.

After the relationship ended, I faced one of the most difficult seasons of my life. It was also a season that deepened my relationship with God. I learned to depend on Him one day at a time and to trust Him when I couldn't see what came next. Looking back, I see that chapter as a testimony to His faithfulness.

My faith in Jesus and my time in the gym became meaningful parts of rebuilding my life. As I continued showing up, I began to grow mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Physical changes followed, but the most significant growth couldn't be seen in the mirror. I was learning to care for myself again and to understand that my worth did not depend on my appearance.

That experience is the heart behind Purposefully Well. I know how isolating it can feel to compare yourself to other women, struggle with expectations about your body, or want change without knowing where to begin. I also know the difference it makes to have someone beside you who helps you feel safe, seen, and understood.

I created Purposefully Well to offer that kind of support. As a health and wellness life coach, I want to provide a space where you can speak honestly, feel heard, and take practical steps toward goals that reflect your values. My role is to walk alongside you with encouragement and accountability as you build habits that support your whole life.

I believe we are made in the image of God, and that our bodies and lives are gifts entrusted to our care. To me, living purposefully well means learning to nourish, move, renew, and steward those gifts with intention and grace—one choice, one conversation, and one step at a time.

You don't have to have it all together.
Come as you are. We'll start there.
